We Are Girls SOAR High (mission statement)
We are Girls SOAR High (GSH), a club at SOAR High School, dedicated to empowering female and non-male voices within male dominated environments. According to statistics, more than 86% of women in california report experiencing some form of sexual harassment. As students on a college campus, young girls are vulnerable to harassment from older college students that perpetuates negative self imagery for themselves. We hope to promote changes in biased curricula when concerning female and reproductive health. As a team, we recognize the danger and vulnerability young girls face due to the stigma surrounding their health & safety. We hope to shape lifelong learners and advocates through our club and community outreach in order to teach without judgment and prejudice toward the female experience and create resources for our school .
