We Are Girls SOAR High (mission statement)
We are Girls SOAR high, the GirlsBuild team at SOAR (early college) High school of Lancaster California. Many students within our community, including ourselves, feel the stress and pressure of college and have little to no idea how to approach their career path. Our mission aims to ease the stress of students from the uncertainty of the future through promoting health and wellness as well as college readiness in students by providing resources for college and their future careers. These resources include a community-run career fair, inviting speakers in certain work fields, resume workshops, hosting forums for city and state and national candidates, providing information about ballots and elections, and providing guidance to those uncertain about future careers and majors.

Hello! I am Rocio Rivera and I am a Junior. I am excited and grateful to be part of this team at SOAR with amazing, passionate, and dedicated girls. I enjoy serving my community and being involved to create an impact. As well as reading, listening to music, nature, traveling, public speaking, swimming and spending time with family and friends. I plan to pursue a profession in law and am also involved in Mock Trial, Key Club, and Speech Club. Working with the team gives me so much joy and it is amazing what we can do when we work together.
Hi, I'm Michelle Medina and I'm currently a junior at SOAR high school. I'm so proud to be the president of our club this year! I've been apart of G.S.H since freshman year and I am as passionate as ever about it! I have a lot of faith in the abilities of all of our members and hope to provide the best guidance for them. Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my two rabbits, collecting crystals, and helping my friends!

I enjoy to read, write, and pick up new hobbies 24/7. Roller skating and origami have been taking up some of my time lately. The time I have dedicated to Girls Build has been nothing but fruitful and I’m thankful for that. I look forward to what this club has to bring!
