We Are Girls SOAR High
We are a team of motivated girls and this is our second year as part of the national GirlsBuild program. We are dedicated to serving others and helping our community. This year we took part in the GirlsBuild Voter Mobilization Challenge, along with focusing on helping our classmates feel less stressed and more motivated during distance learning.

Jocelyn Cordero Secretary Hi my name is Jocelyn Cordero! I'm currently a sophomore at SOAR High School. I wanted to have a positive impact in my community, so I decided to join this club to make that impact. In this club I take minutes and attend as well as assist in events. Outside of school I enjoy cooking, painting, and drawing. I hope to positively affect everyone in our community. |
Brenda Gonzalez member Hello! I am Brenda Gonzalez and I am a Junior at SOAR High School. I joined Girls SOAR High because, from a young age, I realized that women are hardly encouraged to pursue careers in the STEM field. From the miniature club in my middle school, I felt empowered by the small community of females in my school. I knew from Femineers and GirlsBuild that I wanted to pursue a career in the STEM field. GirlsBuild taught me that women are strong and courageous. Women can do anything they desire in this world. I was excited to know that there was a GirlsBuild club at SOAR High School, so I joined with the happiest desires and greatest inspiration. Zenaat Abass Treasurer Bawo ni! (means hello in yoruba). My name is Zenaat Abass, I am currently a freshman attending SOAR High School and I am our Girls SOAR High Treasurer. As a feminist I have always wanted to empower young woman like me to follow their dreams and reach for the stars. It is an honor to be a part of this wonderful club because it has such an amazing impact on both our community and young woman around the world. |

Yahany Francisco Member Hi there! I am Yahany Francisco and I am a sophomore at SOAR high school. At each Girls SOAR High meeting I feel very welcomed. One of my favorite activities that Girls SOAR High has created, was the student teacher meeting, this helped so many students connect with their teachers including me. I am honored to be a member of Girls SOAR High and I can't wait to see what the future holds for our amazing team. Maria Montoya Member My full name is Maria Belen Montoya but Maria Montoya is good. I'm in 9th grade, I joined Girls SOAR High because we do things that help raise awareness and help the community and what I like most about Girls SOAR High is that we send out a positive affirmation everyday and sometimes when I'm not feeling my happiest our daily affirmations bring me a lot of hope and motivation.
