Reflection
Our project this year focused on spreading awareness of mental, physical, and emotional health. We focused and planned several projects, informational workshops, volunteerism, and recognized leadership. From promoting discussion on mental health and physical health we were able to make an impact in both our school and community. It is extremely important to focus on the mental health of students during the COVID-19 pandemic and its unpredictability. Our projects of Winning on Excellence, Daily Affirmations, Love the Leadership, workshops, and volunteer cleanup have helped promote the appreciation of our teachers, students, and environment. They also helped uplift students such as being recognized for excellence, receiving uplifting quotes every day, and attending workshops about nutrition, staying active, and art. If we could do things differently, we would have ordered our t-shirts sooner and updated our website more often as we planned our events. Though we also would have liked to connect with students in our school and community about their personal experiences and opinions about online learning. Overall, we as students understand that a sliver of motivation, kindness, guidance, and mental strength can help extensively with our mental health during this challenging time.
